Unwritten Roads

Design Research and Creative Strategy, Brand Identity

THE PROJECT

With the belief that writing is one of the most important artistic forms of expression, Unwritten Roads captivates young adult creative writers. Its writing workshops help teens explore roads of their own creative ideas. We were asked to create a name and visual identity to encompass the idea of living adventure through the creative writing process. The mark shows an abstracted pencil top with floating punctuation, which ‘winks’ to the notion of a mountain and sun, where exploration of the unwritten roads awaits.

THE RESULT

To date, Unwritten Roads had conducted workshops with young adults at Waynflete School, The Portland Public Library, The Boys & Girls Club of Southern Maine, Cape Elizabeth Community Services and Islandport Press.
